Privacy policy

This policy covers the website of JustJuris: Advocates & Consultants, Janankshi Layout, RR Nagar 5th Stage, Bengaluru 560098. It explains what happens to your information when you visit the site or contact us through it.

The short version

• The website has no forms, no accounts and no login. You can read every page without telling us anything about yourself.
• We only receive personal information when you choose to call, WhatsApp or email us.
• We do not sell, rent or share your information for marketing.
• What you tell us about a legal matter is treated as confidential, as the law and the Bar Council of India Rules require of advocates.

Information you send us

When you phone, send a WhatsApp message or write to contactjustjuris@gmail.com, we receive what you choose to share: usually your name, phone number or email address, and a description of your matter. You may also send documents.

We use this only to reply to you, to fix a meeting, and, if you engage us, to act on your matter. We do not add you to any mailing list.

Messages on WhatsApp and email pass through those services (WhatsApp, owned by Meta, and Google for Gmail), and their own privacy policies apply to how they carry the message.

Confidentiality

What a client tells an advocate in the course of seeking advice is protected under the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 (which replaced the Indian Evidence Act on 1 July 2024) and by the professional duties of advocates. We keep it confidential whether or not you go on to engage us. We share information about your matter with others, such as a court, an opposite party’s advocate or a government office, only when your matter needs it and with your instructions, or when the law requires it.

What the website stores in your browser

The site stores one small item in your browser’s local storage. It records that you clicked “I agree” on the Bar Council disclaimer, so the notice does not appear on every page. It contains no personal information, it is not sent to us, and you can remove it by clearing your browser’s site data.

The site does not set advertising cookies.

Outside services the website uses

Some parts of the page are loaded from other companies. When your browser loads them, those companies receive technical details such as your IP address and browser type, as happens with any website:

• Google Fonts, for the Rubik and Noto Sans Kannada typefaces.
• Google Maps, for the map of our office on some pages. If you are signed in to Google, Google may link the map view to your account under its own policy.
• Cloudflare, which hosts the website. Like any web host, it keeps short-term server logs (IP address, pages requested, time) for security and to keep the site running.

The website does not currently use any analytics or tracking tool. If we add one, we will update this page first.

Links to other websites, such as government portals in our articles, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.

How long we keep information

Messages and papers from people who do not engage us are kept only as long as needed to reply, and to check for conflicts of interest if they contact us again. Client files are kept for as long as the matter and the law require, and for a reasonable period after, in case questions about the matter come up later.

Your choices

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to contactjustjuris@gmail.com or call 070902 41421. We will reply within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

This website is meant for adults. Where a matter involves a child, such as custody or a POCSO case, we deal with the parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

If what the website collects changes, we will update this page and its date.
