The road from Banashankari

In 2014, a long stretch of road from Banashankari Temple Circle through Kadirenahalli Circle and Srinivasapura towards Kengeri was named Dr Vishnuvardhan Road. That road passes Uttarahalli and Channasandra, and RR Nagar 5th Stage is a short way off it. For much of Banashankari it is the direct route.

From the 1st Stage and the Hosakerehalli side, the Outer Ring Road down to Mysore Road and then into RR Nagar is another option. If you take the metro to Banashankari on the Green Line, an auto or cab from there along Dr Vishnuvardhan Road is the simplest way on.

Six stages, different paperwork

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Stages lie inside the Outer Ring Road and are long settled. The later stages spread south-west. Because the locality is so large, it is split between the Bengaluru South and Bengaluru West City Corporations, and the corporation on your tax receipt is the one that handles your khata.

Banashankari 6th Stage deserves its own note. It is a BDA layout formed in 2001 with more than 20,500 sites over 14 blocks. A part of it, mainly the 3rd, 4th and 5th blocks, has been caught in a long dispute with the forest department over the buffer zone of the B.M. Kaval forest land, and construction there was stopped. In late 2025, the BDA and the forest department said they would do a joint survey. If you own or are buying a site in these blocks, ask for the current status of that survey before you pay anything or start building.

Elsewhere in 6th Stage, the issues people raise are usually about getting the khata after a BDA allotment, the absolute sale deed, and BDA auction sites.
