How to check consumer court case status in Bengaluru

How to check consumer court case status in Bengaluru on e-Jagriti, which replaced e-Daakhil and CONFONET: case number search, cause list and orders.

Consumer cases in Bengaluru are heard by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions for Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural, and appeals by the Karnataka State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. To check consumer court case status, the place to go now is e-Jagriti (e-jagriti.gov.in).

From 1 January 2025, the older systems, e-Daakhil (for online filing) and CONFONET (for case status and orders), were merged into e-Jagriti for all states, including Karnataka. If you filed on e-Daakhil earlier, or someone gave you a CONFONET link, your case should now be traceable on e-Jagriti.

What you need

  • the case number, for example CC (consumer complaint) number and year, or FA (first appeal) number for an appeal before the State Commission
  • the name of the commission: Bengaluru Urban has more than one District Commission, so note which one the case is in
  • for a case you filed online, the mobile number and login you used

All of these are on the filing acknowledgement or the notice from the commission.

Step 1: check status on e-Jagriti

  1. Open e-jagriti.gov.in.
  2. Look for the Case Status option. Public case status search is offered on the site, and filers can also log in with an OTP on their mobile.
  3. Select the level: District Commission, State Commission or National Commission.
  4. Select Karnataka and the particular commission (for example, a Bengaluru Urban District Commission).
  5. Enter the case number and year, then search.

The result shows the parties, the stage and the next date of hearing. Earlier hearing dates and the orders passed on them are usually listed below.

Government portals change their menus. If a label is different, look for “Case Status”, “Case Search” or “Track Case”. Check the current site.

Step 2: track a case you filed yourself

If you filed the complaint online on e-Jagriti (or earlier on e-Daakhil), log in with your registered mobile number. Your filed cases appear in the dashboard with their status, from scrutiny of the filing and admission through to final disposal. e-Jagriti also sends SMS and email alerts at key stages, so keep the same mobile number active.

There is also an e-Jagriti mobile app for filing and tracking cases at district, state and national level.

Step 3: check the cause list

The cause list shows the cases a commission will hear on a particular day. On e-Jagriti, open the Cause List option, select Karnataka and the commission, and choose the date. Check the day before your hearing. If your case is not listed, it has not been posted for that date.

Step 4: read and download orders

Daily orders and the final order are uploaded to the case record. Open the case and look for orders or judgments by date. For a copy to use for execution or appeal, apply to the commission for a certified copy. The time limit for appeal to the State Commission runs from the date of the order, so do not wait.

What the stages usually mean

You see What it means
Pending for admission The commission has not yet decided to take up the complaint.
Notice issued The opposite party has been sent notice to appear.
Version / reply The opposite party is to file its written version.
Evidence / affidavit Both sides file evidence by affidavit and documents.
Arguments The case is posted for final hearing.
Orders / Disposed The commission has decided the case.

If you cannot find your case

  • Check the case number format and year again, and make sure you picked the right commission.
  • Older cases from the CONFONET period may show differently. Try a search by party name if the site offers it.
  • Ask the commission office, or your advocate, who can check the file directly.
